Sugar: Many vegans eat too much fruit. This is a big mistake since the body cannot process huge amounts of sugar – especially in a short period of time. If you are going to eat a lot of fruit you need to burn it off with exercise. If you don’t, the sugar will remain in the blood, your body will produce too much insulin and your will have a sugar crash.
If you do eat sugar you should make sure you consume some spirulina and/or chlorella with it. It is imperative that you have protein with EVERYTHING you eat, especially fruit or other high sugar foods such as dates.
Fat: Too much fat, nuts, seeds, oils such as olive oil. Fat is a good way to fill yourself up and not feel hungry all the time, but you can take it too far. The calories that you get from fat should not exceed more than 10% of your total caloric intake.
Protein: This is the biggest mistake Vegans ma
ke and why so many of them get sick. MOST Vegan do not get enough protein. If you become a vegan or vegetarian, you can’t just stop eating meat, fish, eggs or diary because you need protein. Chlorella and Spirulina are the best foods that are high in protein. Both are about 60% amino acids – 18 of them in the correct ratio. If you eat a small handful of either of them (or both) with each meal that’s all the protein you will need for that meal.
