However, that certainly doesn’t mean they are not. Most people will shake their head at the idea of living to be 90 or 100 years old because they have only seen cooked foodists who are that age and for the most part, they are not a pretty sight. Half the people over age 85 are senile and have lost touch with reality to some degree. Most cannot walk without assistance, nor perform basic maintenance on themselves, such as bathing and caring for their own nails. Most are incontinent and need assistance when going to the bathroom. They are sacks of bones and blood, mere shadows of what they once were. When someone dies of “old age” it simply means that they had so many diseases it could not be determined which one killed them. Given these circumstances, I would not want to stay alive to that age either. Continue reading
