Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT’s) are one of the fastest sources of fuel for body and brain. Since it has fewer steps to convert into energy for the body than simple or complex carbohydrates it requires less energy to convert.
A byproduct of this is lauric acid, which has been proven through research to be effective in treating various health issues. Coconut oil contains the highest levels of MCT oil. However, the biggest difference between the two is that MCT oil is more concentrated and is entirely made of MCT oil.
Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT’s) are fats that are naturally found in coconut, palm and other oils. Unlike long-chain triglycerides, MCT’s are more easily and rapidly digested than other types of fats, as they require lower amounts of enzymes and bile acids for intestinal absorption.
Because LCTs are larger and more difficult to use, they are naturally stored in the body. MCTs are more easily absorbed and used by the body thanks to their smaller size. This makes MCTs a great, natural energy source, which helps with weight loss.
