My wife, Rose, had told me that she had the flu and felt terrible. She’d gotten it from her mother and she had been sick over a week. I told her I would bring a cure with me, which I did. It turned out it saved the both of us because it worked for her and then it became a life saver for me as well.
Shortly after I arrived in Hong Kong I gave the cure to Rose. At the time when I administered it to her, she had already recovered 60% of the way from the worst it had been. However, she was still coughing, sniffling and her nose was stuffed badly. The following day I asked how she felt and she reported that she was fine, completely cured. I noticed the coughing had stopped and her nose was unstuffed.
What Rose took that stopped the flu dead in its tracts was exactly what I was going to need in two days, and I was going to need it badly. Shortly after we arrived on Hainan Island to visit a Spirulina factory I began to have a relapse of what had knocked me down in the summer. The immune system is the last thing to be strengthened in the body, even if you move to a raw food diet such as I had. I pride myself on having a strong and resilient immune system. I had accomplished this by living on a plant-based, vegan diet of mostly raw fruits and vegetables for 12 years, by consuming Chlorella Extract (Chlorella Growth Factor or CGF) and juicing foods such as ginger, garlic and turmeric root. I began eating a 90% raw food diet in 1999 and I have gotten the flu four times since then, which is an improvement over getting it once or twice a year.
The disease that returned to me in China came on strong and quickly. Obviously, I had never completely rid it from my body from its first appearance during the summer. And now, with the opportunistic certitude of all disease, it had returned because it could, and it could because my defenses had been lowered by long flights at high altitudes and not getting regular, proper sleep because now that I was on the other side of the world, day was suddenly night and night was day. This kind of thing weakens everyone’s immune system to some degree. In my case, the virus or bacteria that lived within me awoken, proliferated and was about to destroy my trip to China.
The muscles in my legs began to tighten. They became tender and painful, even after rubbing them out for several minutes. A red blemish appeared on my lower right leg about three inches above my right ankle. It looked like a giant pimple, which became extremely delicate to the touch. It was growing in size and I was getting pimples all over my legs. I had first noticed the fester the previous night when that area became extremely painful, as though it were a muscle cramp.
I initially thought my symptoms were simply a result of the 16 hour plane ride to Hong Kong followed by the two-legged three hour plane ride to Hainan Island. However, by the time I woke the following morning my overall condition had declined significantly. The sore on my leg had worsened and throbbed with pain.
It was happening again. My summer illness from hell had returned and now was about to undermine an important and long anticipated trip. And I felt helpless to do anything about it. Then I thought that perhaps it was an infectious disease, either a bacterium or virus that was attacking. I looked through our bags trying to see if we had any more of what I had given to Rose that seemed to cure her flu almost instantly. (to be continued . . . )
