Yes, spirulina is grown 100% vegetarian, vegan, no animals or animal by-products used in its production. Magnesium, Potassium, Nitrogen, Organic Acetic Acid are the inputs or ingredients that it grows in. Growing spirulina is not terribly difficult, but you better know what you’re doing to get really good spirulina. Chlorella is also grown vegetarian, vegan. It is easy to grow and you need to open or crack the cell wall to get at the nutrients. Quora
