“Instead of medicine, fast for a day.”
~ Plutarch[i]
One of the keys to Achieving Great Health is consuming sufficient amounts of plant protein. High fat diets are popular because the foods they suggest you eat taste good and are satisfying. Therein lie the parameters of what most of us consider when putting something in our body: taste. As long as our precious taste buds are satisfied, the nutritional value becomes irrelevant. We are raised on certain foods, and consuming tasty foods is all many of us understand about eating. Diet plans play into this wonderfully.
I fasted on Spirulina and Chlorella exclusively for 10 days since they both contain 60% protein, close to the percentage that high protein diets recommend. I consumed nothing else except Ionized Water during that time and never had more energy in my life. It gave my body a chance to rest, repair and adjust in positive ways. I didn’t feel burdened by the digestive demands of other raw foods that are not as powerful or as easily digested as Spirulina and Chlorella. The fiber in Chlorella has an even better chance to cleanse the digestive tract when other foods are not present. It was one of the best detoxifications I have ever been through. A heavily toxic person needs to ease into the Spirulina & Chlorella Diet because it is immediately and profoundly detoxifying to the entire body, especially the liver, which is the toxin filter for the body. One of Chlorella’s most well known attributes is its liver healing abilities, something no other food possesses.[ii]
I lost 10 pounds on the Spirulina & Chlorella Diet and felt I could have easily kept going. Fasting with algae is the healthiest way to lose weight because your body is absolutely getting all the essential nutrients it requires. The Spirulina and Chlorella “Algae Diet” is a high-protein, low-carbohydrate, low-fat diet. The big difference is that the Algae Diet is actually quite healthy because it uses plant-based protein from raw foods, whereas low carbohydrate diets use cooked foods and animal protein as their fare, which of course lead to our many health problems, especially cancer and coronary heart disease. The Algae Diet is 60% protein, 19% carbohydrates and 6% fat, which is a perfect food complement ratio if your goal is to lose weight without the fear of any negative health effects or potential malnutrition.
When your body is receiving nutrients from powerful raw foods and its nutritional needs are being met, it does not constantly cry out for more food, and our hunger level decreases. When you eat junk foods or fast foods, your body absorbs the fat and since there are little if any nutrients in those foods, you are hungry again only hours later. The body does not cry out for nutrients when it is on the Algae Diet. I was not hungry at all during the 10 days I dieted with Spirulina and Chlorella.
Diet plans play around with the types and ratio of fats, carbohydrates and protein we consume. They rarely speak to the nutritional content of the foods they propose you eat, but rather focus on what combinations of foods we should and shouldn’t eat if we want to lose weight. Diet plans mask what they truly are by trying to be informative about health, explaining how vitamins, minerals and other nutrients function in the body. Some diet plans want you to weigh the food you consume, which is only necessary when you are on a cooked-food diet. Volume of food is never a concern when you live on raw foods.
Diet plans are the ultimate enablers (along with pharmaceuticals) that encourage us to keep eating harmful substances that are void of nutrients simply so we can shed pounds, as though the simple act of losing weight is all we need to be concerned with to be healthy. Weight loss is healthy for an overweight person, but it is counter-productive to lose weight by putting unhealthy substances into the body.
Diet plans should be avoided for the most part because the vast majority of them unnaturally trick the body into temporarily loosing weight by upsetting the balance of protein, carbohydrates and fat that we consume. In short, they tinker with the body’s metabolism and hormonal structure to the detriment of our health.
The key to all diets is drinking sufficient amounts of water each day. The Spirulina & Chlorella high-protein, high-nutrient diet promotes quick weight loss without the fear that it would harm your body because they are perfect foods with a complete complement of nutrients. Unlike any other diet, your health is not in jeopardy when you go on the Spirulina and Chlorella Diet.
I’m wondering how you consumed the spirulina and chlorella. Did you take them in tablet form all day? Or in some other form? How many/much did you take?
Chlorella is a form of plankton which contains considerable levels of chlorophyll. This multiplies immediately throughout the process of photosynthesis with all the mixed activity of carbon dioxide, water, natural light and also a tiny amount of mineral deposits.
I am so impressed to website content if you want more details visit my website.
Hi there. I as so interested in learning the best way for me to take both Chlorella and Spirulina. Can I take them together? Should I take them with meals or before? Also, which is the best brand out there? I do not consume meat or fish of any kind and I desperately need a good source of protein. Do you think I will be able to rebuild my muscle mass on these superfoods? Ah, one more question, what is the best form to take these supplements? Thank you kindly.
Sincerely,
Laura S. Garza
Good information. Lucky me I ran across your website by accident (stumbleupon).
I have book-marked it for later!
Just need to know if you mixed the algae powders in the water you were drinking? (If so, the water/algae ratio) Or, did you decide on taking the capsules?? Thanks so much for writing this article!!!
You can grow your own Spirulina and consume it still fresh and full of life force! It takes a bit of patience but is worth the effort.
Glen – Yes, you are so right. Grow your own spirulina. Not easy, but really worth it. Life force! You are right. Bob
