Frankincense is mentioned 17 times in the Bible and was one of the three gifts brought to our Lord, Jesus Christ. It was also offered to Moses. The LORD said to Moses, “Take for yourself spices, stacte and onycha and galbanum, spices with pure frankincense; there shall be an equal part of each.” Exodus 30:34
Frankincense is an anti-inflammatory herb and not as appreciated as Curcumin is for such use. Curcumin has quality human research trials in osteoarthritis, but Frankincense also does as well. Also known as frankincense, it has been burned as incense in religious and cultural ceremonies for centuries. Frankincense is widely regarded as an anti-inflammatory nutrient, wherein its primary active ingredient, acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid (AKBA), inhibits the inflammatory enzyme 5-lipoxygenase. Excess 5-lipoxygenase is commonly found in joint pain, respiratory conditions, allergies and cardiovascular issues. A number of new studies give insights into Frankincense, a unique nutrient, even expanding its potential usefulness.
