Rush Limbaugh to Cancer Survivor: “Medicine Gave You Your Life”   Wrong.  God gave you your life, at the moment of inception and every moment thereafter.  But I understand what Rush was trying to say here.  Rush was responding to the fact that the government was making it more difficult for people to get the drug.   Regardless of that, Rush’s declaration about the drug is wrong on several levels.  What Rush was suggesting is that medicine saves lives, even the lives of cancer victims.  That is flat wrong.  Only the body is capable of healing Itself of any disease. No raw or cooked food, or medicine of any kind, is capable of healing the body of any disease. Rather it is what the body does with those nutrients that determines whether it heals itself or not. This is what my seven component health protocol is all about. We get our health from living on a diet of raw fruits and vegetables. And without our health we cannot live.  And without quality health we cannot live to our potential.

We continue to search for health in medical science, medications and artificial
therapies such as chemotherapy.  We wonder why cancer statistics keep going up along with a plethora of other diseases.  We Trust in Medical science. We believe in it. We go as far as to invest our faith in it. To so many people and it is their religion because it is what they believe in. We give enormous amounts of time and money to organizations that are searching for cures for every disease that exists because someone somewhere knew someone who was touched by disease and perhaps died from it.

I personally have faith only in God and all He created. I believe in nothing, absolutely nothing, else.  As I’ve often said that God created an apple, but we created the frying pan to make it ” better”, more tasty.  However, by cooking a food you rob it of all its alkalinity and rejuvenative properties. Only a raw food can provide the body with nutrients it requires to heal itself of any disease. Therefore living on a diet that is mostly comprised of raw fruits and vegetables is essential if we expect to remain healthy, let alone heal the body of any and all disease.

People who raise money for disease causes such as cancer, do so because they believe in the science that is going to find a cure for the disease. Their hearts are in the right place, but the hard truth is that they are wasting their time and money. Health begins and ends with their diet. Whether or not we can control our appetites for what does not belong in the body determines whether we are healthy or not, not how much money and/or awareness we raise. It gives them the ability to wear a ribbon and feel good about themselves because they care and want to help others who have the disease.

These diseases are often marched upon as though some sort of civil rights issue were involved. From the chanting sometimes it seems as though the simple act of legislation could be the final piece of the puzzle that would lead to a cure. But no man-invented cure for any disease has ever been found for any disease ever will be found. This is because only the body is capable of healing itself of any disease.

Medicine cannot save anyone’s life. What saves our health is living on the foods that God provides. They’re all around us. But we will only see them if we are looking for them.  The first step in the journey toward health is learning to love raw fruits and vegetables as I have.  I started slowly eating more and more raw foods and, over the years, have come to love them so deeply that they have become the very essence of who I am and what my level of health is.

Radiation From Fukushima Becoming Ever-Bigger Threat to US

Radiation associated with 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster in Japan is slowly but surely making its way across the Pacific Ocean toward the US.

“Within one year it will have spread over the entire western half of the North Pacific and in five years we predict it will reach the US West Coast.” Claus Böning, co-author of the study, tells the website Environmentalresearchweb.

No radiation spill has occurred like this before on such a large scale and had the potential to spread through water.  The worse nuclear accidents in history were Kyshtym, Russia—Level 6 -1957, Chernobyl, Ukraine – Level 7, 1986 and Fukushima, Japan Level 7, 2011.  Here are the top 11 nuclear accidents on record.

There is no way to stop the radiation that is coming to the US West Coast as it steadily moves east.   The spread of the Pacific Ocean plumb of radiation can be found here through March 2012.

Removing radiation from the body will increasingly become important in the coming years.

Why I Am Still In the Bottled Water Business After 20 Years

One person wrote to me:

I am very much a fan of this site and products but I do have a question. I noticed Bob used to be in the bottled water business, doesn’t that sort of contradict ionized water?

My response was:

Thanks for you email. I started out in business in the bottled water business. My father was a water expert, educated at MIT.  After a couple years of selling great mineral water, I found out about Ionized Water, and coined the term myself.  It is the best water we can drink without doubt.

I continue to sell mineral water because water is the most important substance for our health. And of course I sell Ionized Water as well. But not everyone wants Ionized Water – for whatever reason. There is nothing wrong with regular water, mineral water, so I sell it. What I won’t sell is something that is unhealthy, such as purified water, RO or distilled water. That kind of water is harmful to our health. If people prefer mineral to Ionized Water – that is ok, but it’s their loss.

At this time, we don’t actually bottle the mineral water like we did in the past, but only sell it by the gallon self serve.

The Signs of Disease: Acidity and Toxicity

If you are sick with any disease, you know two things about your temple and its state of health.  First, you know that it has a deficit of electrons because your body is acidic.  pH is a measurement of the concentration of positive and negative ions.  When they are present in equal quantities we have reached a state of equilibrium within the body and our pH will be 7.0.  When your body has accumulated too many positively charged hydrogen ions then you become acidic and your pH is low.  An acid environment in the body encourages disease.  Disease will not live in a body where the pH environment is in balance, which means it is close 7.0.

If you are sick with any disease you also know that you are toxic because disease lives on toxins.  In the absence of toxins, disease cannot exist in the body.  If you are healthy your body will not contain substances that do not belong in it.  Anything that does not perform a useful function in the body should be regarded as a toxin that needs to be removed.  The body, our temple, is only truly glorious when it is free of toxins.  Toxins turn the body into a garbage hull.  A temple free of toxins is a disease-free temple.  Disease is a symptom of not honoring what God has given us.  A diseased body is a testament to our transgressions against God’s living temple.

Wade Lightheart: Now Here’s a Guy Who Actually Gets It

Wade Lightheart (here is a video) promotes a water ionizer that is sold through an MLM.  So essentially he’s a competitor of mine.  But I ran across this video and I have to say he looks great and he’s doing a lot of things I have been promoting for years.  A diet of raw fruits and vegetables and a foundation Alkaline Ionized Water with which he starts his day.  I drink the exact same amount when I wake in the morning as he does – a quart (liter).  (Never drink more than one quart of water per hour).    Start your day with water!!  It wakes you up and gives your body what it needs more than anything else.

I don’t know what else Wade is doing for his health and training program, and what other foods or supplements that he might be taking, but I love some of his quotes in the video: “I did this not because I was eating, but because I wasn’t”  Exactly.  Food doesn’t make you strong.  Lifting heavy stuff all the time does.  Food can only provide the body with the nutrients it requires to build muscle.  The best nutrients for the body come from raw fruits and vegetables.  Don’t eat much food and when you do eat only raw fruits and vegetables.  Some foods are more useful than others for building muscle.

Wade openly dismisses cooked animal protein stating that it completely unnecessary – as it is!  In fact, regular consumption of cooked meat, fish, eggs, dairy cause more disease than anything else other than people do not drink enough water.  Chronic cellular dehydration is the number one cause of disease.

Thor Bezler wrote Raw Power about natural body building and the raw food diet.

 

 

Peter Ragnar wrote Serious Strength for Seniors and other books about building muscle on a raw food diet.

 

 

Randy Couture drinks ionized water and takes spirulina and chlorella.

“World Renowned Water Expert” Offers Garbled Explanation of Alkaline Ionized Water

I don’t mean to insult anyone here, but Alkaline Ionized Water (AIW) is having enough trouble taking off in the market and the last thing it needs is to be mischaracterized and explained in a confusing way.

In an interview with Ethen Carrell, “World Renowned Water Expert” Ronnie Ruiz is asked “What is alkaline ionized water?”  

World Renowned Water Expert:It was a water processer essentially. It sends electrical charges through the water and gives the water more alkaline, which can reduce the chances of getting some diseases. Of course no one can be completely unsusceptible to diseases, but there are steps people can take to prevent obtaining diseases.”

Heh?  Could I get an interpreter please?   I’m not exactly sure what that sentence even means.  Perhaps I can offer some clarification.  Although AIW is quite complicated in regard to its mechanics and chemistry, it is created by a simple process that is easy to understand.  AIW is electronically enhanced water created through electrolysis.  It is produced by running normal tap water over negative (cathode) and positive (anode) electrodes, which ionizes the minerals in the water creating positive (hydrogen) and negative (hydroxyl) ions.  The magic comes when the membranes separate the hydrogen and hydroxyl ions, thus creating alkaline and acidic water.  These two waters are always produced simultaneously during the ionization process.

FYI Ronnie, unsusceptible is NOT a word. It’s ironic that you used it in a sentence that barely touches upon the rules of the English language and therefore is almost incomprehensible.  If you’re trying to explain AIW to someone who has never heard of it that probably is not the sentence you want to use if you don’t want them to laugh at you.  

Ruiz offers other gleaming gems of health wisdom regarding AIW in the interview: “The evidence is evident in other countries that this water can reduce migraines, shrink your risk of getting cancer, make you healthier, and reduce your chances of getting diseases.”   This is redundancy with a side dish of repetitiveness.  It seems to suggest that AIW works in some countries, but not in others, but I’m sure Ronnie didn’t mean that.  Or did he?  There are many more of these gems in the interview, but you get the idea.

Carrell asks Ruiz at the end of the interview if he has ever “considered writing a book about the topic of ionized water?”  My question is, will it have more incoherent sentences such as the ones found in this interview?  If it does Ronnie, you might want to rethink your answer of “Yes undoubtedly.” 

Besides, such a book has already been written and I am the one who wrote it: The Miraculous Properties Of Ionized Water – The Definitive Guide To The World’s Healthiest Substance (also available in Spanish).  I’ve written 5 books on health (with a 6th coming out soon) and The Miraculous Properties of Ionized Water is in its 3rd Edition and is, by far, my bestselling book.  I would be happy to send Ronnie a copy so he could learn how to explain to others why they need to consume the healthiest substance known, AIW, and how it is actually created.

I have written about AIW since 1996.  I blog about it all the time, coherently I might add. I think Alkaline Ionized Water one of the most incredible things I’ve ever seen in my life, as significant as the first moonwalk and the invention of the personal computer.  All my health books have featured it and I have proudly stood behind it when it was attacked by Dr. Mercola (Mercola seems to know nothing about water, the most important substance required by the body) while others have maligned AIW without offering evidence.  Many have tried to debunk it for years, unsuccessfully in part because of people like myself and many others, including Ronnie, who stand behind it.  Kudos for that Ronnie.  We refuse to be bullied by whatever “interests” there are of those who want to squash widespread introduction to the public of the world’s healthiest water and most important element required by the body.

Back to Ronnie’s book that he’s currently writing.  Is there a working title at this point?  How about The Dummy’s Guide to Understanding Ionized Water For Those Who Don’t Really Want to Understand It.  I vow to be the first person in line to buy Ronnie’s book on AIW when it comes out.  I’m really looking forward to it.  I just can’t wait to quote from it.  🙂

First to Market: Non-GMO Certification for Naturebuilt Chlorella

Building the Perfect Salad

Eating your way to health.  Once the salad is ready, we should consume it as soon as possible.  The fresher foods are, the more nutritious they are.  Ideally, we should consume salads within 20 minutes of their being prepared.  Foods that have been chopped or minced are exposed to oxidation, which destroys their nutrients in a way reminiscent of cooking, but at a considerably slower pace.

Instead of lettuce, I use greens as the base of my salad, such as kale, parsley, dandelion, spinach, endive, Swiss chard, watercress, radicchio, escarole, arugula, chervil, sorrel, mustard greens, bok choy, radish greens, chicory, mizuna, collards or rapini.  You can also use the leaves from any vegetable such as broccoli, turnip, beets, cauliflower or brussel sprouts.

I sometimes use sprouts such as lentils, mung beans, red clover or alfalfa for the base of my salad although I always make sure I have greens of some sort in the salad because chlorophyll is one the obligatory nutrients consistently needed in our diet to Achieve Great Health.  The body requires chlorophyll perhaps more than any other nutrient.  Of course you can make greens your entire salad, but when preparing a power salad your green foundation should consist of 40 — 50% of the total salad.

“Meat” of the Salad. The remainder of the salad is where the power and healing potential lies.  I suggest you start by including the foods that you like, whatever they may be.  My favorites are green onions, beets, radishes, cauliflower, broccoli, asparagus, red peppers and tomatoes, although there is not a vegetable or fruit I won’t put in my salads.  Some foods such as avocado, hot peppers and garlic I religiously include in every salad I prepare.  When I first tried eating fiery foods such as garlic, I added a few slivers to my salad and was amazed and pleased with myself that I had consumed it raw.  Now I eat 3 or 4 cloves of garlic with each meal and think nothing of it.  It is impossible to eat garlic by itself, but the fire of powerful foods such as these is subdued when they’re consumed with greens, avocado, olive oil and other neutralizing condiments.

Lasagna. Lasagna means layers in Italian and that is the way I build my salads, in layers of the various food groups.  Fresh herbs are another favorite of mine that I add to most of my salads.  Adding an herb like basil or mint will change the entire character of a salad.  Some herbs are so potent they can overpower a salad so you can’t taste anything else.  In general, I use herbs in moderation, but sometimes fresh herbs comprise as much as 50% of my salad, although that kind of strength takes some getting use to for most people.  Sprouts such as fenugreek or broccoli have a distinctive flavor and can also radically change the entire character of a salad, so I use them in moderation as well.  Potent foods are an acquired taste, but they help put us at health’s door faster than any other foods.

Finishing Touches. I top off my salads with various raw nuts, raisins, dried cherries, cranberries, any fresh fruit and finally ground seeds, usually flax, figs, dates, sesame, cumin and milk thistle.  I also use pumpkin and sunflower seeds regularly, as well as walnuts and pecans.  I use as many as 15 different kinds of nuts and 30 different kinds of seeds throughout the year.

Sometimes I will squeeze a pomegranate over my salad when they are in season or add pieces of fresh coconut.  The possibilities are endless and by rotating foods in and out of my diet, I never tire of eating salads because the flavors are always new.  Since turning to the raw life, my quandary has become what to exclude from my salads because there are so many choices.  Given the variety of foods that I have learned to love and are available at different times of the year, I never ask myself what’s for dinner.

Dressing. Salads can be made thousands of different ways and not one of them will taste avacodo-salad-dressingthe same when you learn to use the arsenal of spices, oils, vinegar and other condiments that are available.  The dressing will determine the final taste of your salad and can turn a salad in any direction at the last minute.  For instance, by adding the right spices, you can have a Mexican, Indian, Oriental, European, Italian, Greek, Continental, American or Middle Eastern salad.  Dressings are the final brush stroke on the canvas that the salad aficionado makes before consuming his masterpiece of Great Health.

The oil I use most often is extra-virgin, cold-pressed olive oil.  Extra-virgin signifies that it is the first raw pressing and it has not been heat processed; therefore it is raw, which is the only type of oil we should consume.  Olive oil has a buttery flavor and is quite stable compared to many other oils that go rancid quickly, such as sesame or flax seed oils.  Vegetable or fruit oils such as coconut or avocado oil tend to be more stable and lasting.

I commonly use lemon or lime, apple cider vinegar and wine in my salad dressings.  The spices I use on my power salads are unprocessed Celtic sea salt, cumin, turmeric, cardamom, cinnamon, curry powder and cayenne pepper.  I grind most of these spices just before I eat.  The flavors of spices such as cumin or coriander are greatly enhanced when they are freshly ground and it only takes a few moments to pulverize them in a coffee grinder.

Most people find the taste of sea vegetables, such as nori and dulse, to be quite unsavory.  However, since its pungency is lost in the complex flavors of my salads, I add 3 – 6 grams to my salads.

Another standard I use with most of my salads is apple cider vinegar, which is excellent for digestion because it contains boron, a mineral that aids digestion.  It also mimics our stomach acid (HCl).  Steeping or pickling various vegetables and herbs in organic vinegar creates a myriad of flavors; I commonly use onions, garlic, hot peppers, basil, rosemary, cherries, lemon and orange peel.  I am also fond of aged (not mellowed) balsamic vinegar, which has a sweet taste.

The vinegar and spices you use will provide many subtle flavors, and with time you will learn how to fine tune these flavors as the culinary artist within you emerges.  Sometimes I sweeten my dressing with fruit, fresh orange juice, natural maple syrup or raw honey.  Other condiments I occasionally add are mustard, horseradish, tahini and various chutneys, all of them fresh and raw.  As a convenience, you can purchase these beforehand, although they most likely will not be raw.  Considering that the dressing is less than 2% of the salad, the fact that it is not raw can be overlooked.  On the other hand, if my life were on the line because of some deadly disease, I would want 100% of everything I ate to be raw until my body had rid itself of the disease.

You can never have too great a variety of foods in a salad.  They will be delicious every time you make one as long as you put the foods in it that you love most, regardless of what they may be.  You can purchase all the foods I’ve mentioned in the supermarket, health food stores and through the Internet.

The Food Pyramid Needs a Makeover in the Worse Way Imaginable

 The food pyramid is the first lesson most children learn about health.  It is an early step taken to unwittingly brainwash our children about food and health because it is based on a false assumption that the human body requires meat, fish, eggs and dairy products, which it does not.  It misinforms by telling us that if we simply eat from the four food groups we will be healthy.

The cattle, chicken, dairy, fish and egg industries see to it that they are adequately represented on the food pyramid whether they belong on it or not.  It is a ridiculous notion that industries with economic interests should have any influence over which foods belong in our diet and in what proportions.  Of course, the entire food pyramid is based on the false assumption that we should consume cooked foods to begin with.

The food pyramid is also heavily weighted toward cooked grains such as rice and bread, which create mucus that leads to allergies and other unnatural sensitivities.  This is especially true of wheat products.  We should never cook grains, but rather sprout and juice them, such as wheat or barley grass, which are powerful green foods.  All grains are grasses and grasses of any kind can safely be consumed raw; in fact, most are nutritional powerhouses, although they should be juiced before they are consumed.

The economic interest of certain food industries has consistently influenced the famous food pyramid that we are all familiar with.  Meat and dairy continue to be pushed as healthy while at the same time they have increasingly become suspects that can potentially damage our health.  Also adulterated is the Federal Government’s Dietary Guideline for Americans, which has been issued every five years since 1980.[i]

Raw Food Pyramid_CardIn truth, the food pyramid should be built around raw-food theory and not the false premise that an animal-based, cooked-food diet is healthy.  A food pyramid based on this assumption, a Raw Food Pyramid, would appear completely different.
