Natural Products EXPO Goes Green meaning . . .

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

We attended the Natural Products Expo in Anaheim, CA this last week, March 12 - 14, 2010. While there is good news about Natural Products Expo (www.expowest.com), there is plenty to be unhappy about regarding the show.

We heard from New Hope Media http://www.newhope.com/, the company that runs the expo, that they had "gone green" and everything was now paperless. No more phone book size catalogs, no more plastic badge covers and paperless press room. All that is fine and I have no problem with it, but if they are saving all that money on the "paperless expo", why does the price of the booths at the expo keep going up. Every year it's another $400 - $500 for a booth. You would think that some of that savings might be passed along to the exhibitors but instead we are looked upon as ATM machines rather than customers.

Then there is the union, Freeman http://www.freemanco.com who charges outrageous amounts of money to do almost nothing and NEVER even offers a "Thank you for doing business with us". You get nothing from this group but a bill that has already been charged to your credit card. They move a pallet or two for you and you get a bill for $1000 or more. They don't allow anyone to use a hand cart on the floor. Everything must be carried in by hand if you are not using them. This is so you will be FORCED to use them. Forcing is what unions are best at. We rent space at a warehouse that charges us $5.00 per pallet to off-load them and bring them to our rental space. This is because they aren't union. Another thing that Freeman is short on is politeness and professionalism. Their attitude is that we are lucky, so lucky, that they are there to help us. If it wasn't a union doing this everyone knows that the cost for their services would be 25% of what they are charging.

I may be the only one to be writing about this, but I did not talk to a single exhibitor who did not agree with me that this show was a ripoff and it got worse every year. The Natural Products EXPO has gone green alright, right into their pockets. Personally, I think that their entire "Gone Green" stance is nothing but a marketing tool. I think that if "Going Purple" or any other color would make them money they would do that as well. I'm not against it but I know a marketing ploy when I see one. Which brings me to my last point:

What I really resented was their keynote speaker: Bill McKibben, who is a political activist of sorts. I listen to his keynote address and the one thing that stuck in my memory was that CNN had reported his organizing efforts on October 24, 2009 as "the most widespread day of political action in the planet's history." Nothing against political action or trying to do something positive but I deeply resent going to a Natural Products Expo and finding that the keynote speaker is a political activist who we are suppose to clap for and support their efforts, when in fact no one really knew who McKibben is (he has a long history) and what his political organization does. And yet there was an entire room full of people who clapped like seals for him every time he uttered another one of his platitudes.

I don't have anything against Bill McKibben or 350.org, but I resent a health expo being politicized by anyone, any group, for any reason. Right, center, left, it doesn't matter. I didn't travel across half the country to listen to someone political pitch, regardless of what it was, and someone telling us that this is all "good for us." I didn't hear one word about health out of his mouth. Somehow, I believe that I wasn't suppose to care about that.

The Natural Products EXPO use to be about health, not politics. Now it's about big business and getting as much money from the vendors as they possibly can. It's about politics and money.

Expo East, Natural Product EXPO, in Boston 2009 was terrible. I exhibited the first year in Boston and attended in 2009. It was very poorly attended. Boston is extremely expensive and the convention center difficult to get to. It is the worse city to have an expo I know of. NPE East was great when it was in Baltimore then they moved it. Do yourself a favor and skip it in 2010. I love Boston, but it's not worth it. Ask any of the vendors from 2009 what they thought of it. It was the most dead expo I have ever attended. You won't get ripped off from the "green" New Hope Media and the ridiculously high-priced unions and you won't be lectured to by political activists trying to pass themselves off as health advocates.

The Watershed Health Protocol for All Ages

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

One of the most common questions we are asking at the Watershed Wellness Center is how much water should a person this age or that age drink. Or how much chlorella or spirulina should they consume each day, either for themselves, their parents or their children. We put all that information on one page as a general guide to help you understand our simple and effective if you follow the guide lines. Bob has come up with The Watershed Health Protocol for All Ages

If you want to know where to begin, stop by our Copper to Diamond Page to see how you can go from Beginner to Master of Health.

Every human at any age needs to drink Ionized Water, consume Spirulina and Chlorella, raw fruits and vegetables, Angstrom Minerals and probiotics. Everyone should also exercise vigorously each day and attempt to maintain a positive mental attitude. However, this general health which applies to everyone it should be tailored to the age and sex of the person. Here is a general guide for the average person to follow at any age.

The Reward for Practicing God’s Laws is Great Health

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

The rewards of practicing God’s laws, including His laws that honor our temple, are too innumerable to imagine. Doing so will take both your physical and spiritual life to a place few have ever visited, let alone conceived of. I have personally experienced a level of health I never knew existed before I began following this health protocol. I would be lying to say it is easy to maintain, but it is definitely worth it. I struggle every day, but my reward is often beyond words and simply a thing you have to experience for yourself to understand its joy.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9 [NIV]

I am crying to you about your health from the desert the way others have cried from lonely places wanting others to hear God’s message. This is a difficult message to hear, but it is not beyond your reach. This message is tough love, but love nonetheless. We all face tremendous difficulties in our lives. Some we feel are impossible to overcome. But with God, everything is possible. God never gives us challenges that we cannot overcome because He is infinitely fair. As with all the challenges that confront us, all we need to do is turn ourselves toward the face of God, ask for His mercy and it will be granted to us.

The Toxic Temple

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

When we consume substances that toxify our body, we are in fact defiling our own temple. It’s as though we are walking upon the cleanest floor with dirty, muddy, greasy boots instead of clean sandals. The body is a living temple of God, not just flesh and bone that we own and therefore can treat any way we want to. On the contrary, we must remember that we are purchased at a price [1 Corinthians 6:19-20].

If you are sick with any disease you also know that you are toxic because disease lives on toxins. In the absence of toxins, disease cannot exist in the body. If you are healthy your body will not contain substances that do not belong in it. Anything that does not perform a useful function in the body should be regarded as a toxin that needs to be removed. The body, our temple, is only truly glorious when it is free of toxins. Toxins turn the body into a garbage hull. A temple free of toxins is a disease-free temple. Disease is a symptom of not honoring what God has given us. A diseased body is a testament to our transgressions against God’s living temple.

Honoring the Temple of God – A Christian Health Perspective

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

I will be blogging about my book: Honoring the Temple of God - A Christian Health Perspective, (pub. date 06/06/2008) for the next several months in an effort to get feedback on the book. HTG is a seemingly radical approach to natural health from the viewpoint of what the average person eats. However, what is truly radical is how we eat our way to disease day in and day out and then want to blame it on "life" or other "circumstance" beyond their control. The disease they have "happened to them" and where the responsibility lies is anywhere but with themselves. Nothing could be further from the truth. Everyone is the author of their own health or disease. Most of us would consider this a radical idea, but the truth is that if you are sick it is exclusively the result of your lifestyle you have led and the foods you have put into your body. What we consume accumulates either into health or disease. You, and only you, are responsible your own health. If you find yourself with any kind of disease of any kind it is because you have not honored the temple that God has given you.

My book, HTG, lays out exactly how we get disease in the first place, what we can do to avoid and what we should do if we do get sick. My seven component health protocol explains my entire philosophy regarding health. I'll also introduce you to my Beginner to Master (Copper to Diamond) step by step progression toward incredible health, the kind of health most people only can dream of.

"Jesus speaks of the body as being the living temple of God and refers to his own body as a temple. His words are misunderstood, as was much of his message to those who lived in those times. The Bible states that health and wellness is found with God. If your body is full of disease it is because of the choices you have made. All disease comes from our diet. Our genes have nothing to do with whether we get sick or not. Disease does not run in our families due to genetics, but rather dietary habits that tend to lead to many of the same diseases."

My health protocol is simple to understand, but parts of it are difficult to adhere to completely. However, I break it down into simple, understandable steps so that the average person do it if they are determined.

The Watershed Wellness Center Celebrates 15 Years in Business

Monday, October 5th, 2009

The Watershed Wellness Center, originally The Watershed, began in the bottled water business in 1993. Owner, Bob McCauley, CNC, MH, has written four books on natural health. They include Confessions of a Body Builder, Achieving Great Health, The Miraculous Properties of Ionized Water and Honoring the Temple of God – A Christian Health Perspective. WWC has become one of the largest importers of water ionizers and chlorella in the United States. Bob McCauley is a pioneer the water ionizer industry, having written the definitive book on ionized water.

McCauley is a vegan (someone who does not eat any meat, fish, eggs or dairy products) who promotes the use of spirulina and chlorella for our protein instead of animal sources. Spirulina and Chlorella are the most powerful superfoods known. They are complete foods with protein, carbohydrates and fat that are the most nutrient dense foods known. They also have the broadest array of nutrients of any foods.

In 15 years of service, the WWC has labored hard to bring awareness about ionized water, spirulina and chlorella to the average person who may or may not be interested in natural health. The WWC also promotes angstrom minerals, probiotics and herbal extracts. They also encourage that people move to a diet consisting mainly of raw fruits and vegetables. “The Body is Capable of Healing Any Disease” is the mantra they have operated by for all years they have been in business.

The WWC is located in Lansing, MI. Their website is www.watershed.net. They can be contacted at info@watershed.net or call 1-888-826-4448.

The ignorance of the cooked food diet.

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

Regardless of their age, anyone can have the body they had when they were in their twenties. At that age, most of us are physically and mentally in our prime. Physical decline is inevitable and starts in your thirties only if you are a cooked foodist. Physical decline only happens to a raw foodist if they never exercise and even then the decline will not lead to disease, but rather to physical atrophy.

Who is behind the Water Ionizer “Comparison” websites?

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009
Who is behind the Water Ionizer “Comparison” websites?

A plethora of websites have sprung up on the internet that do nothing but compare water ionizers that are sold by various companies. They are professionally done and easy to navigate. But who is behind these comparison sites? Why would anyone spend the money to produce a website that only compares water ionizers and doesn’t sell one themselves? The interesting thing is each of these “objective” websites has determined that a particular model or manufacturer is the best water ionizer on the market. I cannot say I have ever seen these types of comparison websites for any other product on the market. These “objective” websites are anything but what they appear to be. Any open and honest company or individual will allow you to see who they are by registering their website in their name.

There is a way to know if the website you are viewing is actually an objective third party or another water ionizer company deceptively promoting their own product while attempting to appear to be objective. To find out who owns a website search for them on Network Solutions at
http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/index.jsp. Type in any website and it will tell you who owns it and give their contact information. You will notice that all the “objective water ionizer review websites” are registered anonymously by proxy, meaning that they are registered through a third party. In short, they are hiding who they are because they are not being truthful about their identity. They are not in any way objective. When you look at us at the Watershed Wellness Center www.watershed.net you will find that our website is registered by our company’s president, Bob McCauley.

The Dangers of Doctors – part 2

Friday, May 15th, 2009
From: Reprinted by permission by SE, Inc.

Physicians do make mistakes. All doctors make Hippocrates’ promise to “First, do no harm.” However, the medical profession was the third leading cause of death in 2002.[i] The first and second causes of death were cancer and cardiovascular disease. 106,000 people died from the negative effects of pharmaceuticals;[ii] 80,000 people died from infections in hospitals;[iii] 20,000 people died from errors made while in the hospital;[iv] 12,000 died due to unnecessary surgery;[v] 7,000 died due to medication errors in hospitals.[vi] Going to see a doctor can be a dangerous proposition. You are 9000 times more likely to accidentally be killed by a doctor than by a gun.[vii] The alternative is making sure we don’t have to go to the doctor’s office or hospital in the first place.
